Due to our efforts in promoting international understanding we have been recognized as serving tax deductible purposes by the financial office for bodies I Brendtschneiderstraße 5, 4057 StNr. 27/682/52596 V053 since 01/08/2012.

Why do we need donations at all?

In contrast to the usual voluntary services which send Germans to countries of the Global South, reverse voluntary services like the one we organize are sadly not financially supported by the federal state. That is why we are dependent on private donations.

What do we use your donation for?

Donations are solely used to finance the volunteer program. Due to the fact that we now have our volunteers take part in the federal voluntary service we were able to cut our costs by half looking at our initial calculations. Insurance costs and pocket money are now covered by the projects. Your donation is now used to possibly restock the pocket money, the flight, the language courses and conducting the seminars. Here you can take a look at the detailed calculation of costs for a volunteer. All members of the association in Germany and in the sending countries work on a voluntary basis. They do neither receive financial compensation nor income.

How can you make sure that we don't simply make a fool out of you?

As a recognized non-profit association we have to render an account of our finances to the financial office. It makes sure that we used all our financial means with the sole aim to promote the purpose of our association. In addition to that we disclose our finances once a year.

And what about membership fees?

Our association is composed of active and sustaining members. Membership fees are not directly used for the volunteers but instead they cover all administrative costs, meaning that only this money is being used to print flyers, send our letters and pay for the server of our homepage. With this strict separation we make sure that your donation directly reaches the volunteers. Furthermore, we use our membership fees to finance the work of our association. That includes the reunions of members which take place twice a year as well as at times advanced training for our members. Although we do always try to get external promotion for these purposes.
