We are always looking for motivated people who want to get involved in global justice and intercultural exchange! Here you can learn more about your possibilities to get involved with the Zugvögel.

Get active in a regional group

As a Germany-wide association, we are present in many places. In our regional groups, you can network with other Zugvögel on site, plan events together, or host volunteers in your city. You can find out more about the regional groups here.

There is no regional group in your city yet? No problem! We are happy to connect you with other Zugvögel in the area or help you find a regional group in your city. It’s not that complicated Get involved!

Get involved in the association as a whole

Do you want to get involved in the association as a whole? Doesn’t matter if you have a lot of time or not much – over the years we have developed elaborate structures so that you can get involved in different ways.

In the volunteer committee (FreDi), you can help shape the volunteer program. This can mean accompanying volunteers, looking for host families and volunteer placements, getting involved in organizing and running seminars, or getting in touch with our partner organizations.

If you are more interested in political work, you can grapple with postcolonialism, racism and critical perspectives on so-called ‘development cooperation’ in our PolAr committee for political work. Here, we organize events, voice positions on current social issues and reflect on our own association work.

Or maybe you would like to get more involved with concrete tasks in our executive board (Orga-Team)? Here, too, we are always happy to welcome new members who, for example, compile the monthly newsletter, maintain the website or keep an eye on our finances. The Orga-Team is always elected annually at our general meetings.

Come to our general meetings

If you want to get to know us without any obligation, just come to one of our meetings! These take place twice a year for one weekend at different locations. There is always an onboarding session for newbies (called ‘Zugküken’ meaning hatchlings). The next meeting will take place from June 01-04 at Petershof. Register now!
