The Zugvögel have signed the open letter „Decolonize orientational framework“ alongside 70 other organizations, initiatives, associations and scientists. The letter can be accessed via the following link.
The organizational framework has over the last years evolved into the reference frame for the activities within the concepts of global learning and education for sustainable development. It was elaborated in 2007 by a working group of the conference of all cultural ministers (KMK) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). A revisioned version can be found here and is open to public discussion. We join in the critique voiced by the open letter and we demand a clearer migratory diasporian perspective, as well as a greater attention paid to voices from the Global South in the process of global learning and education for sustainable development. The critique will be pronounced at an open hearing on the 3rd – 4th of September in Bad Honnef.
